Collecting, Gathering, Thinking...

 

So our brief was to collect images that may influence/inspire a character and their environment - by visiting Leeds City Museum and The Royal Armouries armed with sketchpads and cameras.


A few images that came out surprisingly well were ones of the lights in the City Museum. The colours are warm and glow which makes me think of nature (when i flip them upside down they remind me of lily pads) - but the form is blocky - like pixels and man-made structures.

I'm beginning to think of combining more natural forms - or perhaps 'older forms' - with more futuristic ones, so perhaps my character exists in the future, but has influences from both past and their present. For example - wants to recreate things from her youth - such as a pond she may have visited - but only has mechanical materials to do so - such as oil and electrical items.
